Four Qualification of knowledge for the student in the path of Jnana Yoga consists of Vairagya(Determination), Viveka(Discrimination), Sat-Sampatti (six treasures) and Mumukshutva (Longing for liberation).
1. Vairagya - Determination
Once the knowledge of discrimination is gained, then we slowly detach from the worldly objects & pleasures. To have passion is welcoming but at the same time we should not have feverishness or restless if it could not be fulfilled. State of acceptance even when the passion is not fulfilled called “Dispassion”. For example : “I want to buy a car”, instead of having restlessness about it all the time, to have state of mind if I buy is okay even if I could not buy a car is also okay.
> ACTION IN LOVE & KNOWLEDGE WITH SELF-CONTROL
2. Viveka – Discrimination
The First qualification is to have the knowledge to discriminate the Real from unreal (sat and asat), Permanent from the temporary (nitya, mithya{matrix} and anitya), Truth from false and Good from bad.
3. Sat-Sampatti - Six Inner treasures
a. Shama - Peaceful State of mind or Control of mind
To keep the mind calm at any situations in the other way being contented with what we have. We always worry upon or complain upon what we don’t have and never being grateful to what we have. Happiness will never going to come when we are not happy this very moment. We always wait for happiness, I will be happy if I buy a car or if I get marry etc., our desires keep changing one after another hence there is no pull stop for our desires hence we never reach the state of Happiness. The devotee employs his mind constantly in the meditation of Lord.
b. Dama - Control of Five senses
As we observed many times, thoughts (Mind) disturbs all the time with so many negative, fearful, unpleasant thoughts. Did we analysed, Why? the very basic problem due to senses. Ex.: Once you seen a beautiful saree through your senses (eyes), it is stored in the mind that gifts you with various thoughts ...the color is good, design is super, i want to buy the same one etc., hence control of senses is necessary quality.
c. Titiksha - Balanced State of mind
In-duality, State of being Calm, indifference towards good & bad, insults & failures, pleasures & pain. Samadhana is the mental state of equilibrium. One has unshakable foundations.
d. Uparati - Completeness or Self-withdrawal:
Once you are free from mind & senses. You are “happy within”, happy in all the actions irrespective it could be smaller or bigger actions. Happiness in every little steps you take, little achievements etc., No longer affected by any disturbances created by external objects.
Being Interest and Involvement in everything, not hating in anything
e. Shraddha – Faith on known & the unknown
Faith in oneself and faith in god is one of the important quality to gain the Supreme Knowledge. One should know that one is moving in a right direction, having confident on his ownself (If you don’t have confident on yourself how others will have confident upon you). Also, having faith on God “come what may, god will always protect me, god will always show me the right path”. Being Honest and sincere in every little actions.
f. Samadana - Contentment
Being contented or satisfied with what we have with us. The one should be contented if we achieve the basic needs (Food, Cloth, Shelter). Ex.: One will have one car/bike to travel, one house to stay but still he want bigger house, bigger car he never satisfied or never be happy. His desires keep going on and on.
4.Mumukshutva – Longing for Liberation
There will be only one desire that is longing for enlightenment, Freedom , Liberation from this material life, worldly pleasures.
